Attention Members:

We are pleased to share the attached March 29, 2021 ILWU Coast Committee Memo concerning their recent agreement with PMA to maintain Welfare and Pension Plans coverage for ILWU members impacted by working less hours during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Notable highlights for Welfare Plan Coverage:  if a member did not work and/or was not credited at least 800 hours in 2020 to maintain Welfare coverage in 2021,  he/she will maintain Welfare coverage in 2021 so long as he/she worked at least one (1) hour in 2020.

Notable highlights for Pension Plan Coverage:  If a member did not work and/or was not credited at least 1300 hours in 2020 to earn a full pension-qualifying year in 2020, he/she will be credited with additional pension qualifying hours in 2020 for any hours worked above 1,300  hours in 2021, 2022, and 2023 until he/she reaches 1,300 hours in 2020 for a full pension-qualifying year.
