Attention Members:

We are providing some helpful information to guide you through the COVID-19 Related Leave Pay process. For your convenience, important CLRC Minutes are available below. Additionally, all COVID-19 information is posted on Local 63’s website, www.ilwu63.net, under the COVID-19 tab at the top of the homepage.

Step 1: Call the COVID-19 hotline (562) 495-7797 and leave a brief message with your name, work#, and the facts surrounding your situation.

Step 2: Go to the Dockworker Self Service Portal at: https://selfservice.pmanet.org/ and log-in. At the top of the screen under “Leave Request,” click on “COVID-19 Leave/Request.” Select the “Leave Reason” that most closely matches your situation. If you have medical documentation, you will answer, accordingly and upload the documentation from your computer or cell phone. Next to “Upload,” you will choose either “Healthcare Providers Certificate” (for medical facility documentation and test results) or “Other Supporting Documentation” (for home test documentation). For medical documentation, you also need to type in the name of the facility in the relevant box to the right.

Note: if you tested positive for COVID-19 at an outside medical facility, please save the test results to your computer or cell phone (many members find that a screenshot works well) for uploading into the Portal. If you tested positive for COVID-19 using a home test, please use a marker/pen to write the date of the test on the test results device or attached note and take a picture of the test results alongside your PMA ID Card or Driver’s License. You will upload that picture to the Portal to support your Leave Request. Again, in the case of a home test, you will select “Other Supporting Documentation.”

For more information, including Testing Pay and Exclusion from the Work Place Pay, please click and read the CLRC Minutes below.

We are pleased to announce that new ILWU Local 63 coffee mugs (with Union bug) are available for sale at the Local 63 Business Office.

On Friday, June 17th, Local 63 attended the 17th Annual ILWU-PMA Fundraising Luncheon for the LA Harbor Boys and Girls Clubs luncheon. This event now raises over $100,000 to support the Clubs and the community’s children, including the after school programs, meal programs, and College Bound program, among others.

This year’s luncheon announced Nick Velasquez as “Youth of the Year.” Nick grew up in Wilmington under very difficult circumstances. Nick found tons of support at the LA Harbor Boys and Girls Clubs and he testified as to that support being critical to his success in academics and in life. As a College Bound participant, Nick has now been accepted to Columbia University in New York. Congratulations Nick!
