NEW TEMPORARY PHONE DISPATCH & CHECK-IN TIMES & PROCEDURES

Attention Members:

As we stated earlier today, March 18, we will be going to a phone check in and dispatch procedure effective with night dispatch on Thursday, March 19th.  Below this message, there are links to documents reflecting the dispatch times for each shift.

We know this is a major change to business as usual but we are in challenging times.  We are tasked with doing everything possible to prevent, or at least slow down, the spread of this virus amongst our membership and at the same time keeping dispatch open and members working.  As you are aware, we didn’t have the luxury to take our time developing this temporary process, so we are sure that as we implement it, there will need to be adjustments.  We ask for your patience and understanding as we all work through this together.

Please review the Daily Work Request Sheets (posted online under “Dispatch” at www.ILWU63.net) ahead of time and make sure that you are available to answer the phone when the Dispatcher calls.  This process will only work if we can move through everyone quickly and efficiently, so we need your help.

In Solidarity,

The Local 63 Officers
